I'm a male in my late 20's, and I can't stand Cher. Is there any way I can ensure that I'll never hear her again, without giving up my sense of hearing altogether?

Yes, there is a way to ensure you'll never again have to hear Cher: simply stop frequenting the gay nightclubs.
