Do any of the folks on this board know of, or like this band?

I don't post on here often, but I just thought I would name drop a band that I really has been criminally overlooked.
Yes they emerged out of the late 90's "emo" scene, but damn how this band has grown.

The band has a new album coming out in March called "Peregrine", and from the 2 tracks that I have heard so far, I'd say that this band may finally get some widespread praise.

Mark

Low Level Owl is pretty fucking good, but the rest is just contrived derivative play-it-safe emo bullshit. I didn't find Low Level Owl to be emo at all, and it was the first thing i heard by them, so i was shocked and appaled when i delved into the rest of their catalogue.

Low Level Owl is fantastic and I'm in the minority of fans who really like Two Conversations, as it was my first Appleseed Cast CD.

I'm very much looking forward to their new disc.

i like em. saw them a bunch when they were still based in lawrence. i listened to mare vitalis like crazy, and i still bust out low level owl every once in awhile. definitely the type of band you need to be in the mood for.

Don't forget about Old Canes Early Morning Hymns, essentially a more folksy, acoustic Appleseed Cast. Good stuff and has a bit of that Neutral Milk Hotel sound as well (especially "Blue Eleanor").

Not crazy about the stuff before the Low Level Owl set. I've liked everything since; futher away from emo, the better. I can see that some consider the Owl set indulgent, but I love it.

How about a YSI?

LLO Vol. II was my first purchase. Shortly followed by Vol. I then End of the Ring Wars then Lost Songs, then finally found a copy of Mare Vitalis(Fishing the Sky is a kickass song), and then Two Conversations.

I love this band. Next To Sunny Day Real Estate Appleseed Cast was one of the first bands I really became a fan of. Listened to LLO Vol. II incessantly.

Love them. Can't wait for their release.

March when? I thought it was april....

Man, Sunlit Ascending is great.

it sounds like what I like about The Appleseed Cast. Although, I think my preference would be just instrumental but either way I am unbelievably excited for this release.
