Has anyone heard this ?
I'm intrigued.

Released in 2005 -

Brakes' debut album is a speedballing acceleration through country-punked melodies that bounce off each other with little or no consideration for the listener’s confusion. It’s a bit mad. And rather good.
Blazing through 16 songs in less than half an hour-- the longest clocking in at about three-and-a-half minutes, the shortest at seven seconds-- Brakes has turned out a weird, riotous post-(cow)punks creed.

Yeah, I got it -- was underwhelmed. Made at least one person's year-end list for 2005, though.

Yeah, it made mine. I really like it, primarily because of the energy and range of styles they employ. It's a fun record, but definitely not a groundbreaker.

Even the album version of 'Pick Up The Phone' wasn't as good as the single version.

Bit of a novelty record if you ask me.
