i especially like how all of my main contacts are right there on the left of my inbox page, easily arrangeable and whatnot.

and i like that the chat is simple and low-key and not so in your face.

I don't have any friends to use it with.

Come to think of it, I don't have any friends.

I tells ya, that google stock is not done exploding in value yet. I keep thinking it is, and then those fuckers keep innovating.

I've had it for a few days. Pretty neat. Hopefully this will get people to move away from proprietary networks like AIM/MSN/Yahoo or whatever and start using Jabber networks that communicate with eachother natively, like GTalk does.

Has anyone used the GTalk yet? I'm still Skyping, but am always looking to try something new.

I did used to know nickisnotdead, though. I think. Back in his radical-anarchist, overturn-the-capitalist-hegemon-oppressor phase, and shortly before he stormed the brig with the New Bomb Nationals.... Now, of course, he's twenty-seven, married, a father, booking shows and signing bands and authors, and touring the midwest with his punk-rock princess wife and their bundle of joy.

Everything he'd run away from is his. The white-picket-fence, own home "drudgery" is his. He's become (the other) THEM.

The ability to send audio through instant messaging has certainly made my job easier whenever we have to do remote broadcasts. The on-location guy can mix up his entire drop during song sets and then just pop it into the messenger conversation. No need for live phone audio.

The GM uses Yahoo for audio, but I'll point out Gmail to him.

i dig on the sparse formatting of it, the way that it's not very in your face but i'm not so hot on the fact that it signs you on automatically whenever you check your e-mail. i don't necessarily want to be chatted with every time i access gmail. there's probably some way to turn it off or list yourself as away, i just haven't investigated properly yet.

I haven't used my gmail account in ages. Now the trick is remembering my login information.
