It's a toss-up. Which is worse?

1. Tim McGraw / Big and Rich (went with girlfriend and girlfriend's sister-in-law who's a big country music fan)

2. Paula Abdul / Color Me Badd (went because I was a huge Paula Abdul and Color Me Badd fan at the time)

Barenaked Ladies. Friend had a free ticket, I had nothing to do. My future wife had the same situation, and we met at a party afterwards. This is an endlessly embarrassing story for both of us.

I forgot about that one! Was that the same year as Paula Abdul? We had a couple-year stretch there that was pretty embarrassing...

I'd still rather see Richard Marxx than Big and Rich again though.

Janet Jackson and Tony Tone Toni. She sat onstage and cried during a moment of silence for her troubled brother.

one of the most horrendous shows (if you want to even call it that) that i have ever been to.

i use to be a big barenaked ladies fan circa gordon-rock spectacle. i always like them up until that point then they got bad. they still put on a good show though.

I have no embarassing concerts -- I mean, I chose to go to them, right? With that said, you might have found it embarassing to have been with me while I was at the following shows:

Osmonds
Bay City Rollers
Barry Manilow
Cliff Richard
Rick Springfield

I'd have to say the time I went with a church's "young" men's group to see Creed, back around the time the first album was out. It still burns.

Har Mar superstar. He was wearing only these big white y-fronts and kept jumping into the audience and gyrating against people. Luckily for both myself and him he did not pick me.

Oh, just remembered, I saw B.J. Thomas in concert when I was about 9 years old.

Boy howdy.

I got dragged to Rusted Root with Laura Love (or something like that) opening up. I couldn't get that patchouli stink off of me for weeks.

And I went to go see The Philosopher Kings (awesome jazz rock soul group from Canadialand), but they were the opener, and all my friends wanted to see the headliner, Coolio. At the time, I was doing alot of session bass work for Bone. Boy, did they rag on me for that shit.

Manilow is awesome. I'm a closet Manilow fan. :D

I can't say I've been to any embarrassing, oh wait, yeah, Train. By my own choice back in 2001. Uh huh. Yup.

Otherwise, I took my best friend to see Madonna at United Center a few years ago. She's a huge fan, I could care less. But my brother has a contact there and he got us tickets for free. I sat down through most of the show checking my watch.

Dave Mathews Band isnt really a terrible or embarrasing concert experience. Of course I only saw them a couple times at really small venues before they were huge. But what the fuck ever, seeing Carter play drums is well worth whatever latent filth you may have to wash off later.

Working Class Dog and Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet are still awesome, so we'd be good company, I guess.

I guess, in retrospect, going to see Gowan when I was a kid is kind of cringe-worthy. For you non-Canadians, he's better know today as Lawrence Gowan aka the new lead singer of Styx.

I saw Rick too. I still love his early albums. When he came back to General Hospital a couple months ago it was the happiest day of millions of women's lives. :)

I might win this contest hands down...I've seen Dave Matthews several times with a girl, been to a Creed concert in high school with a bunch of my friends, a girl dragged me to Bonnie Raitt, and the same girl took me to NSYNC (with Pink opening!) on July 4th that same year.

edit: forgot about the Korn and Limp Bizkit concerts. they were different concerts, too.
