what do you actually mean when you ask 'would you:
"pay to hear a cover song"?'
if i went to a club and some assholes played covers without me expecting it,
i guess i'd be sort of annoyed
maybe...
maybe i'd drink some more and deal with it.

or maybe,
i'd buy a cover album
from an artist i was totally "in to"
if i was in eighth grade.
if that's what it takes to make music more accessible
more different.
more better.
here's my money bro!

wait.
that's stupid.

Sponge is a very underrated band...

'for all the drugs in the world' was pretty good, but 'the man' could have used a little more seasoning....

first three records were tops though!

sponge is/was a great band. i saw them a few times back in '95 and always had a great time. i caught a drumstick once.

i like hearing bands cover springsteen songs. that's just the geek in me i guess.

On the basis of their first major-label album, no. They were five years behind their time, a grung*i*be band, a la Everclear or Silverchair. But, considering their second album, you realize they were five years ahead of their time, and they really should have been headlining with King of Leons or somebody.
