Not to brag (although I will), but...
I think it's the best I've ever had.

Here's what I put in the water:
-Whole chicken, separated
-3 large carrots, peeled and cut
-2 large parsnips, peeled and cut
-3 large yellow onions, halved with the skin ON (it adds flavor)
-4 stalks of celery, cut into pieces
-2 whole cloves of garlic, peeled
-2 bay leaves
-tarragon, to taste
-thyme, to taste
-salt, to taste
-pepper, to taste

Cooked over med-low heat for 5 hours.
Removed onion skins, bay leaves, and chicken skin and bones.
Shredded chicken meat and left in the soup

I love homemade chicken soup.

gotta add in some of those yellow potatoes and then some cut up portabellas late in the process and its money in the bank

I knew that, but there is also a cartoon type version of "Chicken Soup with Rice" that I believe was sung by Carole King. We had to learn that song in 3rd grade or something. It's one of the few elementary school songs I still somewhat remember. That and the one with all the states in alphabetical order.

Upon further review, it looks like Carole's version was on "Really Rosie", but I remember a separate version. Then again, I did drink a lot for an 8 year old.
