Dwight Yoakam - "I Want You To Want Me"
Yeah! It's the Cheap Trick song!
Not sure what I think of it, yet.
It doesn't suck, but I'm not sure if it's any more than that.
It's at least interesting.

Let me know if you listen.

He plays this live a lot. Mumbled his way through a slow version at SXSW when I saw him.

I would think Dwight would be right up your alley, PT

I have
dwightyoakamacoustic.net and I love it.
A friend just burned me The Best Of... and that's what I'm listening to right now. With all due respect to Pete Anderson, quite honestly, I think I like the acoustic versions of the songs even better than the full productions.

Get "Under the Covers" which, strangely, doesn't have this on it.

I love Dwight's covers of "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" and "Suspicious Minds"

i usually bring this up in our "covers that are just as good as (maybe better than) the originals" threads. it's a good one. i think it keeps the feel of the original, but puts a fresh spin on it too.

Good thing the music more than makes up for it.

I like the fact that you're using .edu domains.

PS God damn, that sucked. It was just a country version of the song, why in tarnation would I want to hear that?

I actually do not dislike Dwight Yoakam, as a musician or actor.

I'm listening to anotherone rightnow:
Toots & The Maytalls - "Take Me Home Country Road"

So good.
It just sounds like the way the song was always meant to be.
