A band of American GIs stationed in Germany in the 1960s, stuck around after their discharge, and started making this:

Beat Club, 1966 - German pops TV show performance

Does anyone have anything by them?! Their album "Black Monk Time" was reissued on Infinite Zero. I would love to hear this.

Black Monk Time is really great. Billz will probably try to tell you otherwise but he's wrong so don't listen.

I agree Black Monk Time is great. You've got song titles like "I Hate You", "Boys are Boys and Girls are Choice" and "Shut Up".

My cds are all still in boxes so give me some time. I'll do it if no one beats me to it.

Here's the first track, "Monk Time". I don't know how to compress stuff into zip files...

Unfortunately, that's the best part of the album to me (the song titles, that is). They lyrics are decent (and especially for the time frame they were recorded), but the songs themselves never really moved me.

Just bumping, instead of starting a new thread to appease those Search Function Police.

Saw a documentary about these guys a year or so ago. Pretty fascinating stuff, and good tunes toboot.
