hey guys, i posted a la-z-boy on craigslist today, and I just got a response. tell me if this sounds legit and all since I've never ever done any business thru craigslist before:

hi,
my name is ray , i was going through the advertised classified items when i saw La-Z-Boy - $150 i am really interested in buying, .i would be responsible for the transportation am ok with the price .I would like you to withdraw the advert on net cause i am buying from you and will like you to get me all this. ,I will be paying with a us postal money order in us dollars or a cashiers check,Is that ok by you?,As for
the pick up my pick up agent would be coming for the pick-up in your location.i amreally interested cos i want to get it for my brother inlaw who would be celebrating his birthday soonest If this is ok with you get me the following informations------------------------- >
1,Your full name to be on the payment.
2, address where the payment would be issued to.
3,Your phone number both home and mobile.
. Get me this as soon as
possible so that payment would be issued soonest
regards

should i have him just do a money order? does this response sound legit? it sounds like he runs a thrift store or something, hence the "pickup agent." i just don't want to get screwed on this.

I don't recall ever putting an address—and definitely not a phone number—on any money orders.

Don't do it. Read these, his method pops up several times.

his response seems vaguely similar to other "scam" responses found on craiglist:

scroll down about halfway

GOD BLESS YOU BONERS!!

i already had the red flag raised due to his terrible use of grammar and punctuation. but being a newbie to this, I didn't know for sure.

You know you will have a legit offer when the email says something like, "Is that chair still available, or have you already sold it?"

That's pretty much every CL email I've sent, because 90% of the time shit is already sold.

Dear Mr. Robot Boy,

I have arranged for payment! Soon you will receive in email a Nigerian escrow cheque from National Banque of Nigeria. Please print out and take to bank. It will be added the extra 10% payment.

I have attach photo of me hunting with your Vice Presidente, Honourable Mr. Dick Cheney! Image

Thank you Mr. Robot Boy.

Kindest regards,

Dr. Ngodou Djmbokutdo

Ryan,

Josh has a policy when posting sales on Craigslist(he's done this a few times and I sold some tickets on it once) CASH ONLY!!

If you can edit your posting stick that in there. That way you're much safer and less prone to getting hit by all those scams.

Good Luck dude!
