Class Of Nuke 'Em High

Bloodsucking Freaks

Stranger Than Paradise

Tron

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang

Spun

The Castle of Cagliostro

Everything Is Illuminated

The City Of Lost Children

Legend

The Karate Kid

2046

Manderlay

Boogie Nights

I've tried watching three films today. Team America: World Police was pretty great. Withnail & I bored me, I only half-finished it. And I only got through maybe fifteen minutes of Song Of The South and I'm a huge Disney fan.

I LOVED Tron when I was a kid.

And I enjoyed Boogie Nights, too.

Class of Nuke em High is class schlock trash, as is most stuff from Troma.
Tron is worth it for the cheesy special effects, sort of like watching the Black Hole.
Legend was kind of shitty in my opinion
Karate Kid is classic 80's gold with the ultimate dick villains
Boogie Nights is decent, it runs a little long and the acting is the greatests. It is all worth it to see the awesomely bad fake schlong at the end.

I know. It's one of the films I probably should have seen as a kid but overlooked.

The only reason it's on my list now is because Elisabeth Shue is in it.

I've only seen Boogie Nights and Karate Kid and only liked the former.

I've heard Tron and City Of Lost Children are good though and 2046 looks good.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang was OK.

I own Boogie Nights on DVD.

Karate Kid was a good kids' movie for 1984.

Although I owned the action figures as a kid, I didn't actually see Tron until 1999 or so. I wasn't blown away, but I'm sure it looked cool for 1981.

Spun has Brittany Murphy playing a druggie right? I never saw it.

Good if you're into horror/exploitation

Special effects suck by today's standard, but images resonate down beyond your subconscious to the cultural level. Plus, who wouldn't want to ride one of those bikes?

Bizarre. I think I would have liked it better if I was French.

Yes yes yes yes yes. Quite possibly Tom Cruise's only good roll besides Risky Business. Simply breathtaking fantasy from Ridley Scott and Jim Henson's Muppet Shop.

an 80's classic. Kind of Rocky for pre-teens.

Hmm...which one of these does not belong? If you're easily bored, stay away from this movie. Pacing is such that, makes Kubrick look positively upbeat. That said, I loved this movie. But some of it may be lost on you if you haven't seen In The Mood For Love (which I thought was superior). That said, if you're in the right mood (I.E. awake, patient), this is a wonderful film. The things he does with silence and the backs of peoples' heads is mind-boggling.

If the only Troma films I've seen are Cannibal! The Musical and The Toxic Avenger would you reccomend this?

The Kubrick I've seen bored me to tears but I loved In The Mood For Love so I think I'll enjoy this.

Spun is a great sizzled, accelerated, jumpy, wired view of small time crank addicts... makes you want to go into rehab at the end. Good performances.. you forget that you know who the actors are. Fun.

2046 is meticulously constructed, visually amazing, moral and cautionary tale about Asian prostitutes and lost opportunities. Kinda like a Hong Kong La Dolce Vita ...albeit the story is operatic and weighty. Deadening with slow beauty.

So you can go up....or down. Nice to have choices.

Nuke' Em High is a Troma product. 'Nuff said.

Get the original Cite Des Enfants Perdus, it's dynamite.

Spun is okay but it seems like a crystal meth version of Requiem for a Dream.

For the record, I'm probably going to watch all of these. I'm just curious to know which ones I'll probably enjoy and which not.

Common consensus seems like Boogie Nights and The Karate Kid are the prize picks.

I know nothing about 'Everything Is Illuminated'. I don't know why it's on my list so I'll be interested to see what it's like.
