at the henry fonda theatre in los angeles... i guess they're calling this place the music box now?

anyway, awesome show. rogue wave was great, and i love their album. they have a few musicians who switch up between drumming, bass and guitar duties. every member of the band adds to vocals, lots of harmonizing. the bass player has a very odd mouth and neck twitch while playing. they were great, but at times i felt like i couldn't hear the vocals well.

nada surf really impressed. wow. they have a sh*tload of energy. i wasn't expecting a bass player with almost mid back dreads, who looked eerily like fab from mili vanilli. anyway, they were so into the show, rocking the f out. when they played that song "f*ck it we're gonna have a party," there were probably 20 people on stage (including rogue wave) rocking out!! it was so fun. i was singing along to all the songs loudly.

A+ show.

I'm glad to hear it was a great show. Everytime I've seen Rogue Wave, I've been bored off my ass, and their bass player's hippie chicken dance is scary enough that I never need to see them live again. I haven't seen Nada Surf though.

def.

i usually bring my cam but forgot last night...

the other tidbit i learned is that there is an absolutely free lot to park in a block from the theatre on weekday nights. i parked there thinking i might get towed, but luckily my car was still there when the show ended. it's near the gym across the street.

ooooh, that's a good thing to know. i HATE parking around that area because of the fonda, pantages, avalon, forbidden city, cinespace.. all in the same area.

gotta love hollywood.

That will be my first show without smoke at the Metro next month! Very excited for this, and I'm glad you enjoyed yourself.

Yeah, I know everyone on this board loves Rogue Wave. I just don't see the attraction, but I'm sure fans will dig the show.
