I saw a great show last night and just thought I'd share...

So I recently heard about Devin Davis. His album "Lonely People of the World Unite" is really quite good. Turns out he was playing every Wednesday in February at the Hideout, and I caught the final show last night. Awesome stuff even though it wasn't over until like 1am...I'm draggin at work. But yeah, I read that he played all the instruments on his album, and he did that live too. He would play a drum set for a minute or so, recording a loop, then start singing the song, playing guitar and harmonica. He also jammed on a theremin. Highly energetic singer-songwriter power pop. Highly recommended.

you can download some tracks on his website if yer interested: http://www.devindaviswebsite.com/audio.html

oh, and he said his new album will be out next month. sweet.

totally. his show banter is kinda quiet, but then he'll really get into a song. i couldn't think of how to describe it before, but that fits.

"Turtle And The Flightless Bird" is an awesome song to check out by him. its on "lonely people of the world, unite!" (which, in my opinion, isnt a very good title).

devin is awesome. we've played with him a few times and he's a super nice guy as well. i checked out the first of the hideout shows and it was with the full band and was fantastic.
