So we run out for some quick groceries, and I get pulled over AS I WAS TURNING INTO my apartment complex. Not to mention the fact that the speed limit drops from 55 to 40 in the blink of an eye, on a road going downhill. The ticket says 57 in a 40. I hope you made your quota being this is the last day of the month, you fucking pig.

This is my first ticket since 2001. And I wouldn't mind so much if I was say, speeding intentionally in the Impala. But they always catch me two seconds from my destination.

sorry, i know how this is. i haven't been pulled over since december 2000, but i went through 2 major tickets in 5 months that year. i guess i learned my lesson, even though one was beyond ridiculous and the other was a borderline call.

just make sure you take it to court....you never know what the outcome might be.

due to all this crap, state farm would no longer provide me insurance (been with them for 12 years).......had to find a new insurance company + pay out the ass

funny thing is between now and the end of the year the stuff in 2003 goes away with the insurance company.

technically i only have 3 pts on my record with the state - 10 with insurance (the 0 pt ticket counts as 2 with insurance). screw insurance companies

Yeah I got screwed on insurance for a couple of years because of a rolling stop through a 3-way T intersection where I was going STRAIGHT. Cop was parked facing the wrong way down the T'd one way street waiting for people to do exactly what I did. That was in 2001, and then I took an illegal left at Belmont and Ashland about 17 months later. Those things followed me around for about 2 years.

i got a 75 dollar ticket for almost running over a cop who walked across the street in front of my car.

i got a $180 ticket for 'supposedly' rolling through a stop sign on a DESERTED street in the middle of nowhere.

(which was $50 MORE than the ticket i got for going 85mph in a 65mph zone on the highway.)


anyway, definitely go to the court date. usually they will reduce your fine just for making an effort and showing up. (at least they do in ohio. most of the time. from what i hear and in my experiences.)

I thought about it at the time, but I had two beers just before I left and I didn't want to give him any cause to check me. I just stuck with "Yes, okay, thank you, bye."

my state farm insurance just went up $400 due to 2 speeding tickets last year.

i'm convinced that my car (subaru wrx) attracts cops. i never got a speeding ticket before that car.

I usually don't want to get where I am going, so I have no reason to speed. I do it anyway. I haven't been caught since Dec. '94.

I drove around for 2 months with an expired sticker last year.

Also, I could die in a crash in the next time I get in my car since the brakes are gone and just grinding on the drums.
