i've recently noticed that the majority of skips/blemishes on my vinyl are within the last track of a side (doesn't matter which). has anyone else noticed this with their records? is there a reason why this might be? i'm just curious.

All kidding aside, I would imagine it has to do with the center of the record spinning at a different velocity than the outer edges. Perhaps the needle on the gramaphone is less reliable at lower relative speeds. Either that or there is some extra torque for some reason near the center, although forces should be less the closer you get to the center.
