Speaking of new Ipods...

I know someone mentioned this in the new ipod speaker thread, but has anyone heard all the rumors about the new 6G Ipod? I've heard, virtual clickwheel, 3.5" touchscreen, bluetooth/wireless connectivity, and it makes espresso. Something that makes sense in all the craziness is that a)their anniversary is coming up, and to release this would be huge for them b)they never said the last one was a true Ipod video unit c)isn't there a microsoft mp3 player coming out...not the jokey one featured in another thread?

This would really validate my holding off on buying a Ipod. I'm getting one regardless with some of my tax return money.

There's an announcement scheduled for 4/1 and I'm betting that this is what they'll unveil. It's why I'm holding off on buying a new one.

One of the big reasons people are speculating about touchscreen is that they just filed a bunch of patents related to touchscreens. I wouldn't be at all surprised if it's an ipod with no buttons.

As much as I love my 60 GB Vidja iPod, I'm not gonna get excited about any further releases until they hit 100 GB.

yeah, I heard the patents pertain specifically to the tablets, BUT that doesn't exclude the ipod.

I would imagine Apple would be taking that into account. Plus, you'll have a multitude of 3rd party products on the market as soon as its announced as well.

With all the flack over faulty nano screens, and the already issued ipods being scratch magnets? I couldn't imagine them not thinking about this in some aspect. Whether thats making a scratch-resistant screen, or charging you $50 for an accessory remains to be seen though.
