ha, found this link on goldenfiddle.com.... funny, yet slightly dangerous. Everyone in Atlanta knows the real speed limit on any of the interstates is hmmm, around 80 mph.

The editing on that thing was seriously annoying.

Also, I'm not sure I agree with their angle on this. 55 is a little slow, but the problem is more that so many people here drive like assholes. Yeah, I drive 70+ on I-85/75 when I can, but during the week when there's actually traffic, you're lucky to be able to average 45mph through town and around much of the perimeter.

I think this was a good idea though, and could be used to illustrate a variety a points about the problems with traffic in Atlanta. And yet, mass transit here is in crisis and that powers that be just wanna keep widening the fucking roads.

It's funny, but that stretch of 285 they were on? On the east side near Decatur? Back in 94 I got pulled over for going 97. Oops. Last speeding ticket I ever got, and it was close to $300.

I've since calmed my driving speed since moving to Portland (where you truly have to pass on the right), so whenever I go back to Atlanta, I forget how crazy I used to drive. I even get nervous riding with friends in Atlanta these days.

I've driven well over a 100mph on that side of 285. That and the stretch of 85 below 285 (headed towards PTC) are absolute speedways.

I had two speeding tickets while driving on the Atl. interstate, but on 75-S near Northside Dr. where the speed limit goes from 70 to 55 within a mile (I may be exaggerating here) and one on 85 on the way to the aiport. Capt. Obvious once commented on how bad the traffic is in Atlanta.

Yeah, I've done 100 on MORELAND in your truck, so, there's that.

The thing that drives me crazy is tailgating and the closeness of intown driving. I don't do well. I remember passing a Marta Bus on the 75 on ramp heading from Pluma area to PTC, while simultaneously passing a joint....

Knock on wood, but I've never been pulled over in ATL

It's almost impossible to speed in L.A. sometimes. Unreal traffic.
