I saw the Pups twice.

First time: Amazing, life-changing show. (I use that phrase a lot for this band, I know.) Extremely high energy... lots of brothers crashing into each other while simultaneously playing the shit out of their instruments. Just really great.

Second time: A lot of standing in one place and jamming for minutes upon minutes. There were a couple of bright spots, but for the most part they were pretty self-indulgent. Like seeing a Dead show.

I guess it depends on what night you caught them.

Oh, and to answer the question posed in the thread heading:
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly.
They go to a lake of fire and fry
We won't see them again until the Fourth of July

I am pissed that I missed Curt when he came to Chicago.

And I still have that 1987 interview with him from Guitar Player if anyone is interested.
