Dunno if you made it out to either one of the YYY's shows at the Troubadour this weekend, but I managed to snag a ticket for tonight's show. And ohhhhh boy, was it a good one! The band's energy was burstin' outta the seams! Karen was electric onstage -- she had a cheesy grin the entire time. The new stuff sounds great! And, apparently, she's now a resident of LA -- though, the band is still residing in NYC.

'Twas a fantastic show! Sure hope you were there. Here are a couple of photos just for you! ;)

no i wasn't there. :(

i tell you tania, the yeah yeah yeah's are the one band that i'm not destined to see live. remember the fonda show? haha and the numerous attempts to see them live prior to that.

i'll catch them at coachella, but knowing my luck with them, they'll conflict with someone else i cannot absolutely miss (ie: wolf parade).

thanks for the pics.

not sure how i feel about the new album just yet... it's slowly growing on me, but i'm definitely feeling fever to tell way more.

I scored a ticket to see them in NY a couple of weeks ago, and the show rocked. it was a bit much to hear basically all new material, but i think that once i hear the proper album i'll dig it a lot. karen o definitely knows how to strut her stuff, and when they rock it feels oh-so-good

She's been living in Silver Lake for 2 years.

No, they opened for them on Saturday night. My friends who went to that show said they thought LD were horrible. Sorry.

Btw, here's an article from NME regarding Sunday's gig:

Quote:
Yeah Yeah Yeah rock Los Angeles
The gig is watched by an Oscar nominee

Yeah Yeah Yeahs helped celebrate the impending release of their second album in front of a packed crowd that included an Oscar nominee last night in Los Angeles (March 5).

The New York trio, who release 'Show Your Bones' on March 27, played to a sold-out crowd at the city's Troubadour.

Shortly into the band's 90-minute set, Best Supporting Actress nominee Catherine Keener from the film 'Capote', snuck up the venue's stairs to the balcony to watch the band perform.

Though several roads around the venue were shut off due to post-Oscar parties, Yeah Yeah Yeahs managed to fill the venue for the second night of two exclusive shows, which both sold out late last month in minutes.

Dressed in a yellow and red mini-jumpsuit, her hand dipped in black paint, singer Karen O, guitarist Nick Zinner and drummer Brian Chase treated the crowd to a host of new tracks including single 'Gold Lion' as well as 'Fancy' and 'Turn Into' before bringing out old favorites like 'Maps' during their set.

Though little banter was exchanged during the group's performance, O, manged to keep the crowd's attention, throwing shapes, wildly bounding across the stage and at times into Zinner.

Yeah Yeah Yeahs return to the road on April 3 in Washington DC.
