I own both Chamber Strings albums and have seen them live, so I can vouch for them. I can YSI those if FT doesn't have them lying around.

I'm just looking for a couple of tracks off Month Of Sundays.

You people have really never heard of any of the others? I'd revel in the indieness of that if I didn't care more about getting mp3's.

I have a couple from most of them, but not enough.

There will be an F&J song on my Obner mix CD. They are poppy but in a quirky way. Fleming is an amazing vocalist. She'll wail like Janis, soar like Liz Fraser....and John plays every instrument that exists and has played on records by bands like Spoon, Trail of Dead, Ben Folds, etc. Most folks here would probably hear them and immediately lump them in with that disposable mid-90s riot grrrl pop/rock sound. But they are better than that imo.

I've got "I'm Not Afraid", "The Pearl", and "Ugly Girl". Which is part of what confuses me. I obviously downloaded these at some point. So why can't I find anything more?

"I'm Not Afraid" is one of their better hard rock based songs. I also like "The Pearl." "Ugly Girl" wasn't the best example of their music, but it was their biggest hit. I'm not sure why you wouldn't be able to download them. They may be out of print now, I'm not sure. Both of their full lengths are on iTunes. I have about 10 copies of the out of print version of their first album (it was released twice). If you want to send me $5.00 via paypal, I'll send you one. I bought them real cheap one day in 1997 because I thought they were going to get big, but they made the mistake of releasing their 2nd album during the nu metal explosion.

Don't bother. Had their (his?) recent album on vinyl (thrown in as a freebee by Spirit of Orr), and it was so awful that I sold it after only listening to it twice.

Sorry, that's all I have to offer.

That's fine. I can scratch it off my list then. I've only heard their Schoolhouse Rock cover with Folk Implosion so I was curious to hear their regular stuff. But if it's not worth it, I can have some peace of mind.

I'd need to hear a couple more tracks before I considered buying any of their albums. Even for $5. Just because I'm completely broke and unemployed right now.

I hear ya. There's nothing particularly special about them lyrically. But they write some catchy tunes.

I wish I had my mink lungs records or I'd totally help you out.

and the stinky puffs are Jad Fair's son's band...the kid was like 11 and opening for Nirvana...I remember Kurt Cobain championing the kid in the Incesticide booklet.

I have the Joe Pisapia album (Daydreams) but not with me today.
I'll try to remember to bring it on Monday

I've got both Mink Lungs cds. Which do you want. I like them both.

I'll Take It is a better album on the whole, but Better Button has my 2 favorite tracks by them.

I wonder what ever happened to them.

Oh shit, I had no idea they were that Deluxx. There's not a whole lot of info on them online. I just looked into it, though, and you're right. Damn, what a disappointment.

I had Tidy Boy and the Crazy Bastard which sounded like an incredibly amateurish/inept JSBX. Strong contender for worst album of 2005.

I'm just looking for the songs "Think Of Me" and "Your Nose Lights Up The Dark" by the Minks.

And a couple of tracks of Pisapia's Home album.
