Stop me if you've heard this one before, but...

You want lots of old jazz and blues super-cheap? Here’s what you do…

Go to CD Universe or Amazon and sort by label (can you do that at Amazon?; I’m just guessing).

Search for: “Proper” and “JSP”

Now feast your eyes on fat box sets of quality stuff for cheap!. I don’t know how these British labels do it, but I take advantage of it as often as possible. 5-disc sets for around $25. Wow.

Remember to check both labels for the same artist. JSP is usually a bit more generous with the discs than Proper, but you really can't lose either way.

Also, the Louis Jordan box set on JSP is excellent if you enjoy jump blues, or in other words that Joe Jackson album JUMPIN' JIVE. You can hear where he got it all from plus way more.
