I haven't heard this band or read anything about them other than a few Obner mentions.

I've never heard them either. I've read a bunch of headlines about them, but haven't clicked on any links.

I've seen the album everywhere, but I think I have heard maybe 2 or so 30 second snippets on iTunes.

I said that I think the name is dumb...that's it. If the band is as bad as the name, I won't like them. I haven't written them off based on the name - if I did that for other groups, I wouldn't have every Superchunk album.

They may be overhyped, have a ridiculously stupid name, and are all-around too Dalen-centric, but I like their album because it's reminiscent of The Libertines' finer moments.

I'm going to watch SNL tonight primarily for the overwhelming look of disinterest and bafflement on the face of Matt Dillon when he introduces them.

because i was so desperate for something new, i bought it. most of the even-numbered songs aren't bad, and i think the drummer's pretty good too. i didn't realize they'll be on snl tonight -- here's hoping that they'll be better than james blunt.

i don't really hate AM but i don't think their album is as great as everyone made it out to be. and it's still a dumb band name.

I like the album fine, doubt I will ever love it.

I'll wait till I see it used or if Best Buy sells it for under $10.

Are there any key tracks that really stand out?

They were good last night. A tight four-piece, that lead singer has some Liam Gallagher in him (as do all brits nowadays?) and i cant stand singers who play lead guitar but no rhythm (they always look like its forced) and drummers who sing.

They were about 20X better than The Strokes were.

i am not a huge fan, but i thought they were pretty damn good last night too.

i like the subways better though

last night's SNL appearance proved that Arctic Monkeys are a fucking kick ass live band. tight and full of energy. better than any band out right now that play that style of music.

if you don't like them, go fuck yourself. simple as that.
