They better have a scene of him snorting coke with Iggy at a Stooges show.

Don, just don't give him a British accent. 'Kay? You weren't too good at that, no.

This seems like a good choice to me.
Have any of y'all read Miles' autobiography?
He was a bitter, angry, bitter, angry man.

Yeah, dude was a fucking asshole. Love a lot of his music, but not a guy I would have liked to have been around. Kinda like Chuck Berry in that respect.

Oceans 11
Oceans 12

He tried to do a Cockney Sammy Davis and wound up sounding like he was auditioning for the black Mary Poppins. As bad as Benny Hill doing American accents.

Which is funny, because Cheadles's fine in Hotel Rwanda. Different accents work for different actors, I guess.

Cause Miles grew up in East St. Louis where everyone spoke like a limey.

Uh huh.

I'm pretty sure I know Miles wasn't British. Yeah, pretty sure.
But Cheadle isn't, either.

A couple years ago Snoop Dogg expressed interest in playing Miles Davis on Conan. I'm glad they didn't go with Snoop.

Miles and Chuck -- Bloor you're onto something.

Can't wait to see how Nelly turns out

Sounds like good casting to me.

Also, I've been rocking out to Dark Magus which I just got from a friend.

I'm just glad it isn't Jamie Foxx.

Don will be good in this.

You know, Chris Rock could physically pass for Miles too, not as uncannily as Cheadle, but I bet his voice could approximate Miles' rasp much better.

Who's going to play Coltrane?

Does anyone else think Tim Meadows and Don Cheadle look alike?

They should totally get Forrest Whittaker to play Cannonball Adderley. That'd rock.

Probably have Denzel play Coltrane, but that'd be o.k.

I'm actually ready to give this guy an Oscar when (note, I didn't say if, because Cheadle is that good) he pulls this off. I mean this is the reaction I had when I heard Hoffman was gonna play Capote. Its cake. Its a soft pitch to a major leaguer. This is now one of my most highly anticipated films to see.

Antoine Fuqua as director? Hmmm. As much as I appreciated his outings thus far, I wonder how he would do.

All spec though.

not saying Cheadle isn't good... he is.

what i'm asking is, was 'Mission to Mars' a nasty split finger fastball?

According to Gene Hackman, Danny Glover
