I passed them up for The Sword last night, but yeah they are fun. The Phoenix fucked up on labeling last night's show their first area appearance b/c they opened for Four Tet awhile back.

I would imagine. The album is pretty low key but I bet they ham up the soul freak shit on stage.

so you're saying that the album that has "playboy" on it is good? does everything on that album sound different than that song? cause i'll admit to having heard some songs in the past, but that "playboy" single is pretty wretched. (or is this another album?) or are they one of those bands that is completely different live than recorded?

coming on strong is more mellow.

the warning is full of quirky, funky, heavy-bassline tracks. me rikey.

Hey, Puma,

When is "Warning" coming out? It's on Slsk, but I don't see a release date or mention of it anywhere.

they keep pushing back the release date but last i heard it was may.

peep this video for "over and over"

that's the single from the upcoming album, the warning... the songs sound more up that alley. that's my favorite hot chip jam. that bassline is killer... and that breakdown 2 1/2 minutes into the song. exactly up my alley. anyway, that video is a pretty good depiction of how they are on stage... just a bunch of dorky, quirky white dudes gettin down.

unfortunately no. something got screwed up with the list from work, so we didn't get in.

i saw the performance on the tonight show, and it was kinda boring... but from what i heard about the show on saturday- it was amazing.

They were amazing at SXSW. I never knew electronic stuff could be so much fun. The fact that they use more cowbell is good.
