That'd be my choice for songs I like by person I hate.

For songs I like by artist whose output I usually hate, I'd go old school with Barbra Streisand and pick "Evergreen."

Bon Jovi's another one, because I dislike most every Bon Jovi hit, but love "Runaway."

I also like Puddle Of Mudd's "Blurry."

Has anyone else noticed Super Furry Animals 'Rings Around The World' is virtually identical to 'Livin' On A Prayer', it just hit me the other day for some reason.

Walkmen - 'the Rat'

biggest gap between one song and the rest of their output of any band.

"Free-For-All"
Oh yeah.

And there was some Toby Keith song that I heard that I was pissed when I found out who it was.
"I'm Not As Good As I Once Was"
I think that's what it's called.
It's actually a pretty good tune, damnit!
I hate that fucker.

Hah. Best post in thread.

Err...you don't like "Tango Til They're Sore," "Whistlin' Past The Graveyard," "16 Shells From A Thirty-Odd Six," "Hang On St. Christopher," or "The Piano's Been Drink (Not Me)"????

Cuz they're of a like and stuff.

A mopey friend of mine drove around one night subjecting me to Rain Dogs. This was the only one I looked forward to hearing. Never been able to tolerate hearing anything else.

"subjected to"

Wow. That's a phrase I would never use regarding Rain Dogs.
But it's not a law that one has to like Waits or anything.

Yeah, I'm probably completely alone on the board on this one, but the question was 'songs from artists you hate'. I fucking hate Tom Waits.

I don't really hate them anymore, but "Use It" by the New Pornographers.

"Sunday Morning, Wednesday Night" by Britt of Spoon
"I Turn My Camera On" by Spoon

And I second or third that Walkman thing. I'm amazed that a song that good comes out of such a crappy band.

oh no. you're not alone. Don't fret.

For me.

That one first single by Nickelback I hate that band but for some reason I can't help but like that song. it's awful, i know, but true nonetheless.

Hate is a bit strong for the next one. We'll call it extreme distaste. But, Soul Meets Body by Death Cab For Cutie is a great song and I love it.

There is this song by the white stripes that I like a lot. However, I don't know the track title, and considering I can't stand them, I don't think that's too unreasonable.

T.I. - I'm a King
"I'm connected nationwide, but in the south I'm a king." It don't get much better than that.

Nugent's early catalogue is killer. "Free For All" is an album I would find a way to put on my Listmania were we to do that excercise again, and Ted's debut is monster guitar rock extraordinaire--the aforementioned "Stranglehold", "Stormtroopin'", "Motor City Madhouse"...it's all good. That said, I don't hate Ted--say what you will about his politics--the dude strikes me as consistent and honest. Brash, bombastic, and in your face--but hell, that's rock and roll.

My dislike of Ted is not about his politics or his honesty. It's about his contemptous dismissal of any opinions that aren't his. His argument for everything is "you're a pussy, an imbecile and fooling yourself" no matter why a person actually disagrees with him.

But, yeah, he's got some awesome songs.
