serious answer though

maybe buy your gf some tanning salon sessions

winter depression is linked with lack of light exposure

I'd say we each live in the wrong part of the world. I had my fill of freezing my ass off about 1973 or so.

dude it's almost over. plus, we had a great coupla days last weekend.

I think everyone gets this to some extent, but I rathe like it.

Sitting indoors all winter pretty much forces you to enjoy the summer.

yes. every year from "fall behind" to "spring forward" on the daylight savings clock, i'm on wellbutrin. fall of '05, i was sleeping on average 12 hours per night with naps during the day and crying when i wasn't napping/sleeping. i've been on this routine since around 1998 and every year it's worked.

i've heard that those fake sun lamps really do work, so that's probably a great alternative to drugs.

i get mild "seasonal affective disorder" i think, but more commonly when it turns from cold to warm. not because i have a problem with warm weather, it just screws with my biology somehow. kind of sucks, but usually only lasts a couple of days.

Yeah the last 3 years i have had it pretty bad. Mainly because i have worked in Greece the last 3 summers and then come back to cold grey England every October. Tried a load of different drugs and i still have not really improved. The last batch made me put on shitloads of weight which made me more depressed. Going to try the sun lamp & alternatives next winter.

Once I had a job where my office was in the 'middle' of the building and therefore had no windows. As a result, during the winter, I only saw 1 hour of daylight a day - during my lunchbreak.

It's almost worse during the summer when you wake up at 3.45am to bright sunshine. You can forget about going back to sleep. I average about 3 hours sleep a 'night' during the summer.

this winter is the first where i haven't gained any weight. i mean, i've only lost three pounds, but in years past, i've gained up to 10 pounds per winter.

if you haven't tried wellbutrin, give it a shot. it's the only drug to not make feel drugged (prozac was bad for this), or eat a lot, or depress my sex drive. in fact, i think it's made me want more sex than usual. (or, that's because i've got a great partner, but whatever)

kon - every time i read a post of yours, i dream of waking up in scotland. make it happen, please?!
