At rehearsal last night, Todd (there is another Todd guitar player in Red Plastic Buddha) played me some of their stuff. It was an album from 1996 -- Wattle and Daub -- and I really liked what I heard. Kinda like Daniel Johnston crossed with early Flaming Lips.

Anyone here a fan?
Can you tell me is all their stuff pretty solid?
Like I said, what I heard was from 1996. What is that album called? Is that their best? Should I search out others?

Thanks for your thoughts.

no opinions, eh?
not even any interest, eh?

It was a very cool record, what I heard of it.

RIYL: the lower-fi of the E6 offerings, GBV, and stuff like that.... I think. I wanna know more.

Anyone?
Bueller?

I can remember buzz about them, but I never heard them. They were on Siltbreeze. Does that label even exist anymore?

are they still together? I always regretted not seeing them when they lived in philly. I think they've all moved on since though. Last I heard they were doing albums a la pavement with members scattered all over the country.

I found their record to be clumsy, maudlin, and sophomoric. When the lead singer made those comments about agreeing with those who maintain the holocaust never happened, I stopped paying attention.

So much for supporting that twat.

You're talking to someone whose relatives had numbers tatooed on their arms.
I kinda take that seriously.

I had some songs of theirs on a cassette tape a few years back. I'll see if I still have it when I get home. Songs might not be sendable-quality off the tape, but I might be able to download a few. Occasionally they pop up on my Launchcast station and I think they probably have really good lyrics, if I could understand them in the pig-stomp mix.

No offense meant. I was merely going for something ridiculous and crass. The "holocaust never happened" is the most ridiculous and crass thing I could think of. Cheers!
