Seriously.
I cannot think of another artist that has -- every time I hear another album -- surprised me in such wonderful ways.
Every goddamn time!

I think that 4 of my all-time Top 20 albums may wind up being Eno slabs.

Not bad for a self-professed "non-musician".

So this thread is just for expressing my love for the man and his music.

I bet.

But I exit Eno phases just as quickly as I enter them. Sometimes they last real long though.

You know how I've said things about how groups like Chumbawamba, Sixpence None The Richer and a-ha are actually better than most people think? Well, Los Lobos make them look like William Hung. All those La Bamba dismissers have really missed out over the years.

I am a huge Eno fan... but I was disappointed with last year's "return" to songwriting... what was it called? Just Another Day? It got pretty safe and boring to me after about 4 listens.

I liked the IDM collaboration a few years ago better, "Drawn From Life." Eno is one of the greatest pop music artists of the last 50 years, hugely productive and prolific if you look at all his collaborations and other projects. and I still feel like he is underachieving, if that makes any sense. Just a sign of how he seems like he has unlimited genious.

"Drawn from Life" is the Eno I know and love, not that Another Day On Earth crap. You're not the only one who got bored of his last album.

I like another day on earth. It most certainly isn't crap. It just missed my top 20 last year. Is it one of best, no, but it certainly isn't crap.

I think people expect too much of guys like eno and automatically set themselves up for a let down when they release an album that is merely good.
