(I say "we," though we'll all say we don't fit it, to varying degrees of accuracy)

...along the lines of yuppie or metrosexual, but not those. Not GenX either.

People around 35, with decent jobs (so not me then), good taste in music, technologically early adopters... is there a great term for that and I'm forgetting it?

Shitloads of pairs of shoes, no kids, expensive as shit jeans, minimum music-knowledge factor of DeathCab, messenger bag, expensive haircuts...

Hipster? There's gotta be something better.

I refer to myself as a pimp.

Thank the good lord that I don't wear expensive jeans, own sh*tloads of shoes, get expensive haircuts, own a messenger bag, or know deathcab if I ever heard it. Cause I'd hate to be a middle aged man.

I'm practically sprinting there. Salt-n-peppa hair, double chin, cranky as hell. It's awesome. I can't wait to look my age, for once.

On an unrelated note, good stuff from the Onion:

FRANZ FERDINAND FRONTMAN SHOT BY GAVRILO PRINCIP BASSIST

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND—Lead singer and guitarist for pop band Franz Ferdinand, Alexander Kapranos, is in critical condition today after being shot by a man identified as the bassist for rock group Gavrilo Princip. "We ask fans to cooperate with Interpol to find the assailant, and call upon British Sea Power, Snow Patrol, and The Postal Service for help," drummer Paul Thompson told music magazine NME Monday. "The suspect had links to The Decemberists and The Libertines, and we are following up on all leads." It is unclear whether the shooting was linked to The Polyphonic Spree's invasion of Belgium earlier this week.

I read that article today too. I thought that Andy Chase guy looked like a douchebag until I found out he was married to a rock star and didn't have a real job.

I'm what you call a disposeable pawn, because I work in a cubicle for the man. I could listen to music, but I can't really play it loud enough to concentrate on it. And if I did concentrate on it, that would just distract from the effort I put into my work.

The wife was reading this behind me, thus prompting me to ask. So far, I like Yupster the best.
