Ordered this week:

Starflyer 59
The Hangmen
Rich Hope & His Evil Doers
The 88

On deck: (since I ain't found 'em cheap used yet):

Devin Davis
The Raconteurs
Jose Gonzalez
The Long Winters

I've been through roughly half the mixes I've received so far. So this list will grow.

Noice!

And on another Obner mix exchange-related subject, I think it's time to commend all the people who have been bothering to review the mixes. Surprisingly good job on that!

I've been listening to yours in the car, and as such, haven't been able to take notes for a review--should get one posted later this week.

Indeed. Good job guys. I'd like to think that I'll be able to review all the mixes I get.

It's not out until May, so let's all try Dalen.

I must heartily apologize to everyone for not yet reviewing any mixes. In fact, I should actually apologize for not yet LISTENING TO any of the mixes. I really do want to, but I am currently without vehicular CD capabilities, and I can't listen loud enough at work to make critical track-by-track judgements. I must figure out a solution, because I have a LOT of great mixes to hear.

It's Obner's new, exciting 'Find Your Post' game.

A disclaimer...most fans don't consider I Am the Portuguese Blues to be one of their best, but it's definitely their rockiest/glammiest. Just sayin' because I know that's the CD that the song from my mix comes from ("Unlucky").

Songs from other folks' mixes that are immediately scheduled to appear on my monthly car mixes:

"Connection" CAN
"As Long As He Lies Perfectly Still" The Soft Machine
"Beautiful" Mark Geary
"Giant Spiders" Devin Davis
"Gjort Bort Sig" Dungen
"Elbow Blues" The 88
"Truckstop Cassettes" Portastatic
"Transcendental Sports Anthem" Devin Davis
"3,000 Flowers" Destroyer
"I'm Outside" John Dufilho
"Hold On, Hold On" Neko Case
"Hidden Groove" Simple Means
"Steady As She Goes" The Raconteurs
"I've Got a Feeling (Just Nineteen)" Eagles of Death Metal
"I'm a Widow" Robert Pollard
"Clap Hands" Tom Waits
"Carparts" The Long Winters
"Charming & Plastic" Jay Bennett
"Dudley" Yeah Yeah Yeahs
"Something Is" Richard Hawley
"Lungs Out" Uzi & Ari
"An Hour Before the Light" The Clientele
"Voce Fica Melhor Assim" Lo Borges
"The Frog" Joao Donato
"Call My Name" Joe Bataan (cheesey but fun)
"Evolution" Magnum
"Maria Fumaca" Banda Black Rio

If you don't see anything from yours here it's most likely because I don't know your CD well enough yet....

yeah, I'm slow on reviewing now... I've got about 6 discs on my desk, but just haven't had time. Definitely am thinking about pulling various and sundry tunes from all of your cd's to put on a seasonal mix cd for other non-informed friends.

I'm not sure yet what all I'm planning on buying based on these mixes other than that Art Ensemble of Chicago album from billy g's.

There are a bunch of other possibilities, though, like Headphones, Richard Swift, Damien Jurado, Magnum (funk), Bill Fay, Eugene McDaniels, Sir Joe Quarterman, Di Melo, Nick Garrie, The Jesus & Mary Chain (long overdue), Devin Davis, Mates of State, Graham Parker (also overdue), Adrian Martinez, and a handful of others.

I've still got three mixes I haven't listened to, and Billzebub's is up next. Looking forward to that one.

I haven't ordered or bought anything because of the mixes. Yet. But in the future I'll definitely be searching out:

The Raconteurs
Sally Crewe
Audience
Brindley Brothers
Art Ensemble of Chicago
Syl Johnson
Bill Fay
