just got back from our honeymoon this past saturday, and jesus, what a country. stayed on the pacific side one half of the trip, then in a rainforest the second half. best trip i've ever taken. i'll try to put at least a few of the 411 pictures we took up here in a sec.

It is my second favorite country of the ones I have attended. The ocean is wonderful and I had no run ins with the sketchy-steal-your-passport types.

It's the richest country in central america and by far the most tourist friendly, if you ask me.

Where in Guanacaste did you stay? Tamarindo was the best vacation we've ever done.

I went to Tamarindo too. Did you happen to eat at Pedro's? What a great place. We ate dinner there every night.

ok, here are some pictures. I decided not to include any of my lovely bride as I doubt she wants to be posted on a website that doesn't involve horsey porn. so this is the best that you get of her:

Image

pics of the beach from the first place we stayed. what was so cool about it was that it was "touristy" at all. No volleyball nets, nothing. Just rugged, natural beach. pretty awesome.
Image
Image
Image

a different beach, on our way to a jungle boat tour
Image

my attempts at being fancy and professional, and failing.
Image
Image

a croc
Image

bats
Image

monkey walking in a tree full of monkeys
Image

discovering Bavaria Dark
Image

a sunset
Image

in the rainforest at the base of the Arenal Volcano. The springs all throughout are natural and heated by the volcano. and some of them are HOT. this first one is misty from all the water and rain
Image
Image
Image
Image

me in one of the springs, seconds before the force of that waterfall ripped off my swimsuit

here are some pictures I took of some really awesome plants and flowers we found while walking around the rainforest

rediscovering Bavaria Dark
Image

one day we did a canopy tour and rode a zipline 600 feet off of the ground from platform to platform. Some of the lines were 2450 feet. they were insane and awesome
example:
Image

me on zipline.
Image

arenal volcano is one of the most active volcanos in costa rica (the MOST active?). sadly, it's a crapshoot if you get to see it or not, and we didn't really get to. the most we saw was about 1/2 or 3/4 on the last day we were there. still cool though.
Image

and driving away:
Image

and iguana that almost cost us our lives by our swerving van driver on the way to the airport home.
Image

all in all, best trip i've ever been on.

How was the booze? Did it lead to wild drunken conjugal shenanigans?

Thanks for sharing the pics Ryan.

The fam and I were visiting in-laws in Panama a couple of weeks ago.
That part of Central America has it going on.
Take care. Kirk.

Awesome, we stayed at Jardin Del Eden. We did a day trip to Tabocan, and will definitely book an overnight there when we go back.

Those canopy tours are the cat's meow. You could never get away with that in the States, but man it's fun. Our guides had us hanging upside down by the fourth line.

yeah, it's nice that it really hasn't hit full blown tourist status, or at least it doesn't seem that way. the food and the people were fantastic too.

we also got a private couples massage in a private bungalow in the middle of the rainforest as well as a private seafood fondue dinner (w/ our own private chef and waiter) in a hut in the rainforest, complete w/ candles and rose petals and all that. so fucking cool.

Awesome! Costa Rica is on my list of places to visit -- this just may have encouraged me to start planning my next holiday spot.
