anyone heard of these guys? yet another band hailing from austin, texas... they kind of remind me of broken social scene.

the octopus project

they look like a quirky, fun band. apparently there was a myspace contest and this band got nominated to be billed on the coachella lineup... so that piqued my curiousity about them.

here's a track i really dig:

tuxedo hat

RIYL: instrumental electronic rock ala broken social scene (or something like that)

Yeah, I saw them a while back.
Got a cute lil DIY wallet with an octopus on it that one of them made.

They're good live, I'd recommend it.

i have some of their songs on a Peek A Boo compilation. from what i remember they are 80% experimental and 20% accessible...that type of balance never really floated my boat. i'll listen again though sometime tonight.

Great live show, better than on record.

I've seen them a few times and like them. All instrumental, very experimental. If you're on colinswood, I have one of their albums.
