Crazy shit here. This thing claims that Judas was the most favoured of the disciples and that Jesus asked him to "sell him out" to the Romans so that he could sacrificed and leave the body that kept him from his true spiritual destiny.

This is heavy, doc.

Penn Jillette was talking about this on the radio on Thursday.

The manuscript still dates 300 (200 if you give absolute perfect translation from Greek) years after the events occurred. Also, don't you think Judas would be looking to cover his ass just a bit?

"Oh the other dudes were just jealous you see, so they slandered me."

Also, I find it amusing that they use carbon dating to verify it's authenticity, even though that doesn't work with the Shroud of Turin.

Like they always do:

"Well, these aren't in the canon, so they're not inspired by God"

Even though that canon was "inspired' by a bunch of schmoes centuries after Christianity was founded.

i hate that the liberal media thinks they deserve answers right away. His best friend Jesus DIED on a cross, he needed some time to sort out the story and be with his family before he came forward to the media.

show some compassion people. stop twisting things for your own agenda.

RIGHT! That's what they don't see... the whole shebang was influenced by men with motives. Why would one gospel be any less truth than another?

Yeah, and it never ceases to amaze me how so many people's complete ignorance about Christianity never stops them from taking a stance of intellectual superiority on the subject.

See...and your ignorance about how other people may have arrived at their beliefs or non-beliefs amazes me.....I was a church-goer for many years and have had many religious studies classes - but I'm pretty much an aethiest now. Nothing adds up to me....too many holes...and I really arrived at the point where I couldn't help but see most religion as a man-made invention created to control people.

none of them existed anyways. Some dude probably just took a bunch of papyrus and brewed coffee with it then wrote all that shit. Instant parchment. Same shit probably happened with the other 4 a thousand years ago.
