I think there are a bunch of us here who of fans to one degree or another. Kon turned us on them a few years back on one of those 18 song Konstantimixes.

Nice to see that New Year album Oldbullee. that's highly underrated.

A cool album from the early 70's, and a record that Fontella cut for Paula at the same time that the Art Ensemble had a record out on the label. Don't go thinking it's like the records she did with them, though (even though it was recorded after they returned from Paris), because Oliver Sain produced it, wrote a number of tracks, and gave the LP the same feel as Fontella's work for Chess that he supervised in the 60's. The album's got lots of nice hard soul tracks, including the cuts "To Be Free", "I Need Love", "Wiping Tears", "Hold On this Time", "Talking About Freedom", and "My God, My Freedom, My Home". CD reissue also includes 4 bonus tracks! (Please note that some of these CD cases have a cutout notch.)

I bought this as an impulse buy add-on to an order w/ dusty groove. They're selling it for $4.99 new. I'm surprised how great this is.
