50 Tons Of Black Terror - Demeter

Blue October - Folied

Very suprised at this one. Listened to music director's comp this afternoon. Assumed they'd be some unbearable Staind-type band, but the singer has a versatile voice, the music varies substantially, stylistically, from song to song, lyrics are strong, production is exquiste instead of plodding, and there's shades of Peter Gabriel, Yes, The Cure and many other styles in their songs. Won't make a top list for me, but for mainstream releases this year, I'm impressed.

New Shooting At Unarmed Men (thanks pete!), much better than the last - will likely buy it.

Sleater Kinney - Call the Doctor

Prince - 1999

Also, it's April. Should I still care about the Beatles on this day?

I saw this at Best Buy for $6.99. I was tempted to get it since it was so cheap.... but I had flashbacks of being tricked into buying that first album of theirs 6 or so years ago because there was so much hype behind them, plus they were from my hometown of Houston. I thought their violist added a nice touch to their sound, but I never really got into it.
