Anyone in the area have tickets yet?

I've heard a few songs on KEXP, but with all the praise they receive here i may check out the show.

Any other Madison folks or Milwaukee folks plan on attending?

That's too bad Mojo. One of these days we need to meet.

I think Busty is in Europe on holiday. No clue about the Cap'n. Is the weather nice up there? If so, he's probably riding his mororcycle.

The Riverside had it as a Sat. on the website but it is indeed a Thursday. Nice catch.

I saw these guys last night. I was a fan before the show but not a huge fan. Holy crap, They really bring it live. I'm a believer now. I kept thinking too how great it would be if Dylan would do another Basement Tapes with these guys subbing in for the Band.

Son Volt wasn't quite as good as when I saw Jay before. They did get an encore though which was pretty nice for an opener. And they performed a really great new song which might have been the best of their set.

Anyways, people should go see the DBT's if they come to town whether you're already a fan or not. I think they're every bit as good as MMJ live.

they're playing here the same night as mogwai. it's possible to see both shows, but may not be worthwhile for DBTs if mogwai plays a typical 70- or 80-minute set.

what's more intriguing is drive-by truckers are opening for black crowes here this summer. is this show worth $40 at an outdoor venue? tell me. i'm not a big fan of black crowes, but i've never really disliked anything by them. good live band?

I saw DBT in Austin this past Saturday with The Drams (ex Slobberbone) as the opener. It was epic. They touched on almost every damned album (maybe all, I'd have to find the setlist), and played for about 2.5 hours. And I was filthy for matching Lone Star and bourbon shots with my cousin Eddie (6'8"), and we each had much younger biddies on our arms and openly sang along to the GAR-est of the songs. I am still living up to my sxsw reputation, which explains my scarcity these days.

The remarkable thing is that this month-old 'stache does NOT seem to be killing my game. I must have a decent personality, or something.

The 'stache will be waxable in another week or so.
