When it becomes about the money or the nookie first, it always ends like this.

Samuel L Jackson's death in Deep Blue Sea is one of the greatest movie moments ever. I want to see Jackson die like that all the time.

Clapton fell pretty far, but it was a gradual, decades-long descent.

that reminds me of the mr. show with the teardrop awards where they mercilessly mock "tears in heaven." sadly this is the first eric clapton song i was ever aware of.

"Fields of Gold" is far from his worst offense. I actually like that song.

Doesn't make it cool...

Pick any Police song, and it's cooler than that tune. Or any of his solo tunes. Take your pick.

I like all Police albums and solo Sting through Ten Summoners Tales. After that, the suck.

I like Mercury Falling too. I think the perception of his solo work suffered a lot from his awful choices for singles. "We'll Be Together" and "If You Love Someone, Set Them Free" were among the worst songs on their respective albums.

However, I agree with Phil that the Police were way awesomer. But you can hear the development on the Synchronicity album.

EDIT: I mean Prince of Darkness. I just realized everyone in this conversation is Phil.

Haha.

I own all his shit, he still can write a good pop tune, but when you're talking about a fall from coolness...

shit.

Now he's pimping fuckers like Chris Botti?

I mean, OPRAH loves Chris Botti.

We need to hang out more before you move. Especially since I'll be gone all summer.

For real.

You got an internship this summer?

When's your school year done?

And Ten Summoner's Tales is a great adult contemporary album to concieve a child in missionary position.

You just can't call it cool. At all. ESPECIALLY compared to The Police. Desert Rose was just phenomenally worse than that.

And we don't speak of that duet.

Here's another one for you.... Rod Stewart. Some would contend that he was never cool. Well, he never achieved the heights of coolness that Sting enjoyed, but he also sunk to lows that Sting could never imagine.

Hey, what was that country tune Sting did with those whitley schrieber looking aliens in the video? Cause that was fairly embarassing, but I don't think as embarassing as Do Ya Think I'm Sexy.

I don't know, that's a coin flip.

I don't think collins was ever cool. Talented? Sure. Cool... no way.
