Did the Wachowskis write a treatment for the graphic novel solely for the purpose of getting that ten minutes of lesbian love story on the screen?

Alan Moore has featured lesbians in at least once in every book of his I've ever read, and I've read most of them. Sometimes i't a major theme, sometimes it's in the background, but oh, it's there.

I haven't seen the movie, only read the graphic novel, but I don't recall any lesbianism at all in the book.

I can't recall there being any other women in the movie besides Evey. Am I wrong?

it was the whole story that evey reads while she's in prison. the woman who wrote it was in prison because she was a lesbian.

Ohh. I vaguely recall that.

Or wait. Maybe I'm thinking of The Stranger by Camus?

A person in prison reading a story to keep them sane? On a piece of newspaper they found under the mattress? Which was it?

... Not precisely, of course. For one, the girl was able to fuck with the protagonist of the story. Two, the story was written on a roll of toilet-paper, not recorded on DAT DAT. But, yeah....
