We'll see how long this arrangement lasts before it crashes and burns:

Holy Shit, Shatner is 75 freaking years old. I can hardly believe it.
They really need to give up on the Trekkie films. Didn't the last tv show and movie do real crappy.
With Scottie and Bones Dead, they just give it up now that Patrick Stewart can make more X-Men movies.

Maybe Abrams can tie everything on Lost into some Star Trek plotline and the Losties can go into space.

They should just stop this. I feel the same way about the new Superman movie coming out soon. Is Spock and Kirk even going to be in this one?

I thought I read somewhere that it was going to be like a prequel to the first movie/tv show.

I've heard that too, but I think they've been tossing around that idea forever. Hopefully it won't come to pass this time either, because that sounds awful.

Unless they have Shatner and Nimoy in heavy makeup player younger versions of themselves. That'd be awesome.

This will only be good if the entire firm of Crane, Poole and Schmidt comprise the crew of the U.S.S. Enterprise. Even though Nimoy is still alive and well, I'd enjoy James Spader's take on Alan Shore as a Vulcan.

"J J Abrams, creator of the worlds current number one television series, "Lost", has signed on the dotted line to produce, write and direct "Star Trek 11".

Abrams will seemingly rejig the entire franchise, by creating a story which is set in Starfleet Academy during Kirk and Spocks training, and will feature the first meeting between the two now iconic original series characters, as well as their first galactic mission."
