Just wanted to say thanks for everyone who was able to meet up over the past few weeks and apologise to those I didn't get to see. Mega-huge special thanks to Prince Philip for his hospitality, flexibility, great cooking, and general awesomeness. Much love.

CDs bought this trip: Built to Spill, Streets, The Band, Graham Cousens, Buckcherry, Leave, Willie Nile

I am jet-lagged to all hell.

Glad your home safe. Bummed I missed you. And it's too bad the Cubs couldn't pull off a win for you at Wrigley. Was that your first time there? What did you think?

Had been there once or twice as a kid. Another time in my late adolesence. Easily my favorite classic ballpark.

I had a dream last night that I was walking on a street in some sort of alternate-universe Chicago and I turned a corner and all of a sudden Wrigley Field was there. Nuts. Good to hear you're home safe Colin. And good job buying the BTS, if it's the new one you mean. Well, no matter what you mean I suppose.

In that case, sweet. Did you buy it unheard? If so, you're in for quite an asskicking.

I had the infamous "Mike Jones" leak and could only get through the first three tracks. "Goin' Against Your Mind" is front-runner for song of the year.

Until you listen to "Conventional Wisdom" it is.

Sorry I couldn't make it on Wednesday. Practice ran late and I just didn't quite have it that night. I hope you had a ton of fun and it was great to see you on Monday, albeit briefly!

It's up there, but "Mind" still takes it.

Buckcherry: Solid. Much better than the tracks I heard off Time Bomb, but their debut is one tough act to follow. Josh Todd's voice is jail (yeah, I said it) as always, and a lot of the hooks are in place. There aren't many instances where it all meshes together, though.

Tania: :flipoff:

The problem with Convential Wisdom is that it slows-down into that more hippysounding middle section where it's just too damn rehearsed and planned. I like that they go instrumental, but it's better when it sounds more spontaneous, like on "Goin Against Your Mind."

That being said, the hook from Conventional Wisdom is so fucking dope that it almost puts it over the top.

Cool! Thanks for that, I saw it on the cheap at the local record shop and wasn't sure if it was worth it. I will be picking it up.
