I swear to god this is my favorite TV show ever. The Glenn Frey "Smuggler's Blues" episode is on right now.

This is what Saturday's are all about.

There's actually TWO Phil Collins episodes. Not sure, apparently its a 24 hour marathon.

I like the one with G. Gordon Liddy where they use all Doors songs. I think Don actually directed it.

Wow, I'm not sure I've ever seen this one thats on right now guest starring Bill Russell and Bernard King. Bernard King is a terrible actor.

Jesus, the cocaine budget must have been enormous on this one.

And Castilla's ties are so skinny at times, it might as well be a bolo.

You BASTARD! This fucking show is a personal favourite and that episode is one of the best.

"I hate violence, man!"

Has the Evan episode been on yet? That scene where he's spraying those Mac 10s is awesome. And the pilot movie is probably one of my all time favourites. All I got left is a shitty VHS copy.

And Calderone would be a good Obner name.

I remember the one where Tubbs was undercover, posing as a Jamaican dude :

"Jool get de goodz whin I get de monee, mawn."

I do a Jamaican accent better than PMT, & I'm as white as it gets.

Loved the show back in the day, though. Holds up, I take it?

They didnt show the "Evan" episode though I think that TVLAND (dunno if you guys get that channel up there or not) is gonna throw Vice into the regular rotation starting in January. I DVR'd the pilot, the Phil Collins game-show host one and the three episode saga where Crockett gets amnesia, thinks that he is actually Burnette, and goes bucky. I'm glad they didnt show the one where Zito gets wacked, though, because its still pretty fucking upsetting yo.

In other news, I saw a promo for the DVD release of Season 2 with all the original music remixed in to 5.1 Dolby. Hell yeah!

Inspired by this, am actively seeking out the S1 dvd set.

And yeah, Zito's death was fucking traumatic.

Dude. That's some fucking television. That and the two parter that is actually run in reverse.

Ya know, people can bag on Vice but watch "Manhunter" or any other Michael Mann joint and you'll really get it.

I'm really scared about what this movie is gonna be like. I mean, the beauty of Vice is that it almost always had a non-happy ending: I just hope they dont go all Starsky and Hutch on this one.l

Yeah, Michael Mann is awesome. 'Heat' might be one of my all time favourite movies. Never gets tired and I still hang off the edge of my seat at the final robbery. Mann is doing the big screen version, right? I'll hold out hope that it will be cool.

The "buzz" is that the movie version is in big, big trouble - way overbudget & over schedule.

Not usually a good sign.

No it's not. And didn't one of the stars just check into a clinic for 'exhaustion'?

Quick Poll: which movie gets released first: Miami Vice or The Rum Diary?

Oh, the "Vice" movie will come out - regardless of its quality. The studio has waaaaay too much $$$$ in it for it to sit on the shelf.

BTW - here's the 1st trailer : http://www.bacardilive.com/ ( yes, it's the official Bacardi site - you have to dig around a little to get to the trailer ) . Also, I guess this trailer will be attached to "King Kong" in theatres.

Fuck TVLAND for showing "The Hit List" trilogy this afternoon. Totally putting a crimp on my potential Saturday accomplishments.

Easier link where you don't have to dig around for the trailer.

Maybe the only good thing about the movie is that Michael Mann is actually directing it.

It sure looks like a Michael Mann movie. I will see this based on that fact alone.
