So, a couple months ago, I go camping with a girl who liked me. :?

Long story short, nothing worked out, relationship-wise, but we hadn't discussed $$ arrangements prior to the trip. She let me know (tersely) later that I owed her $20 for all the food she'd bought, which was fine by me. I took a little time & burned 4-5 CDs I thought she'd like & sent them, along with a check.

Couple of weeks go by, and I notice that the check was never cashed. I email her, asking if she had gotten the stuff. Nope.

Would you be a nice person, send another check, or would you think, "fuck it- I spent some time burning the CDs. Not my fault it didn't make it to her house" (so she says).

I eagerly await your replies.

Well, since you owe her money, that's the key of it. Send her a replacement check. While it was nice of you to send those CDs, it was just a bonus to what was owed.

i'd send it again. if you owe her $20, it's not her fault that the package wasn't delivered. when you send it the second time, get some tracking on that mofo. i also wouldn't resend the cds.

Yeah, I understand that. What I didn't say in the first post was that I was suspicious she saw who the package was from, and threw it out w/out opening it.

Who doesn't get their mail? That just seems weird.

Re-send and ask for her sister's number.

Hm. I never thought of that. If you think she's a jerk like that, put a stop on the original check and call it a day.

Apparently you don't live in Chicago. Not getting your mail (or packages) is pretty common.

What I'd do is say that you aren't prepared to send an other cheque but you will do house work for her in lieu of money.

Like ironing her panties for instance or untangling bras.

Now you're reading into something for which you have no actual facts. Plus, even if she did receive it, I'm sure her curiosity would've been piqued at the weight of the package.

No. I do that for a living and am getting tired of it.

What's most disturbing about this is the fact that someone who apparently is comfortable enough to go camping with you (I would consider that at least a good acquaintance) has the balls to say that you owe her $20. It's 20 bucks. I hate people like that.

I wouldn't give her the time or day after that.

I think I lean this direction. I mean, I imagine you paid for something on that trip. Tell her she owe's you gas money or something.

She'd get nothing and like it.

My mail, both incoming and outgoing, has been seriously sketchy ever since i moved to chicago.

I only mail a couple bills, I always get certified checks, and I change where I send them from.

I'm not paranoid either, I keep having my bills fucked with!

Anyhow, give her the benefit of the doubt, cut a certified check at the bank and while you're there, see if that check number has cleared. If it has, you can tell if it was cashed at a bank, or deposited, or what. If it went to her account, screw her. If not, send that certified check, and a single mix.

The good karma might result in her throwing some of her friends at you. You might not get that specific piece of tail, but maybe more tail will follow.

Oh he was sweet, not for me, but he did send some music. Very thoughtful. You might like him.

I mean, o.k., maybe this specific bitch won't do this, but keep making a habit of actively being a stand up guy (especially to chicks you want to do who don't want to do you), and eventually someone will notice (and throw you a hot friend).

And that is my advice to you. $20 and a burned mix are a small price to pay.

It was Porcupine Tree on the boombox all week-end that broke the deal. Send the twenty.

Sketchy's stealing mail from the Prince of Darkness?

That can't end well, Colin. You'll get demonic anthrax or something.

Go to her house, ring her doorbell, then insert a twenty down the front of her shirt.
