I've got an interview with The Walkmen tomorrow afternoon. Anyone have any questions they'd like to see asked? I know the new album thread is a mile long with opinions... so lemme know.

And thanks - I am very new to band interviews.

first, i'm jealous.
second, some things that i'd be interested in hearing more about: has the loss of the band's studio (marcata) in NYC affected the band?
what's up with the band moving to phili?
how does everyone like the lineup changes (organ player now plays bass, ect...)
what have the band been listening too lately?

stuff like that, although others here might have better q's.

it was good to see you last week!

ask them why they didn't take those mariachi horns for more of a ride in that new song of theirs'. That really pissed me off. The song called for the mother-of-all-mariachi-horn-sequences, yet it dribbled out a couple of notes and left me feeling hollow inside.

Then play them a Tindersticks song or three and show 'em how you meant to blow dem things.

Ask them if they were able to score Radiohead tickets.

They did?

Are they originally from DC?

Thanks for the ?s, Stephen.

Keep em comin', people. Many thanks.

I like the call-out on Mariachi horns. Maybe I should play them Beck's "Burro", the incredible mariachi version of "Jackass".

Why did you create an album with one of the best songs in the world (The Rat) surrounded by a bunch of the worst songs in the world?

While it doesn't really fit with the others, the others DO reveal themselves, quite nicely.

completely disagree. i love the weird feeling of Bows + Arrows...Little House of Savages, My Old Man, 138th Street, New Year's Eve, Thinking of a Dream I Have...while the rest of it is not like The Rat, it has that Walkmen mood, that aura, that is so heavy, so thick. One of the best bands of the 2000s, no doubt.
