last night i called work... around 4:30, to see exactly what time i should come in because i didnt want to be late. they said 5. so i got there at 5, clocked in, all dressed in my shitty uniform, and asked where i was supposed to go. my asshole manager goes "nowhere. youre going home" and i asked him why, especially because he let me get dressed, waste my hold day leading up to work, and clock in and everything.. and he goes "i dont need you" and then tells me i dont have to come in for my last shift on sunday and says "it was nice working with you, goodbye" in this horrible tone.

it really pissed me off. but i'm done with the fucking grocery store, thank god. the manager was haunting my dreams, i had nightmares about him. i had one last night.

In all honesty though, there are a million better paying jobs out there if you are just looking for some cream over the summer. I waited tables when I was younger, usually pulling in one to rwo bills a day in tips (cash, so no worries on taxes)

i always make it my business to be nice to the people working at the grocery store, because I know how bad it sucks. Glad to hear you stormed out.

In California, if you report to work when you're regularly scheduled and are sent home shortly after arriving, you must get paid a minimum of two hours for the day. Does VA do the same? If so, send him to the Department of Labor for shorting you hours.
