Does anyone like this band, heard of this band or own the album 'Planets Conspire'?

It's sort of Ben Folds mets Paul McCartney. But mostly Ben Folds. It's kinda grown on me and while it's not great, I'm sure some of the less demanding souls on the board might get some enjoyment from it.

Anyway, I was just wondering if I was the only person on the board that has this album because I've not seen anyone else mention it.

Like everything these days, from fur coats dripping in the blood of the innocent and defenceless to grumpy, elderly music board 'personalities', they hail from Canada.

Anything remotely McCartney-ish arouses my interest. Never heard of this one before.

There was a Meligrove Band song on a mix I received from Blotter way back in the CMJ days. I still really like the song, but always forget to look into them more.

By golly, now I will thanks to Darrin's reminder!

You'll be lucky - I have dial up at home and Uni is finished now (except for exams).

They play here quite regularly, most recently with the Constantines last month. It pains me to say it, but they put on a much better show than the Constantines that night. Not because I don't like The Meligrove Band (I do) but because I love the Constantines, and it kind of sucked to see them look so tired and road-worn and put on a half-ass performance.

But yeah, I like the Meligrove Band. Great live show, but I got this feeling that the CD would be very typical sounding stuff that I might play once....

The few songs I heard from them I loved. Perhaps it's time to look into buying some of their stuff.
