is there software you use to keep track of synopses of important cases so you can cross reference etc? Im thinking of something like Endnote or the like. Also, any other software specific to law you recommend?

You're talking about a client-side research tool of some kind? I'm not aware of one, but that doesn't mean it's not out there. I primarily research through Westlaw (Lexis's biggest competitor), and they do summaries and some cross-referencing, but mostly it's not customizable.

I was thinking more like, as a law student, Id imagine you would have a need to summarize various court cases for future reference- so for instance if you are reading up on a particular issue in IP law, do your Westlaw search- go back over the relevant cases and findings and then dump your notes/summaries into some sort of organizer?

I.e. I use Endnote to keep my references, synopses notes on relevant journal articles.. I was just wondering if there was something specifically marketed towards law.

not that I did an extensive search, but this came up.. something called OneNote, a MS product

http://www.lawtechguru.com/archives/200 ... enote.html

EDIT: that seems to be from 2004, so Im not even sure if it is around anymore.

Another question, does NYU use Electronic BlueBook or Examsoft for testing? just curious

Examsoft. It's bunk (particularly because it's not cross-platform).
