Just got a Yanks away jersey at Sears on sale and I currently don't have a number on the back. What do you think of the following options?

2 - Jeter....this would incur the wrath of Sox fans everywhere.

3 - George Herman "Babe" Ruth...best player in baseball history. nuff said.

4 - Lou Gehrig...this is the one I am leaning towards. Constantly overshadowed by Ruth, but perhaps the classiest player ever. The true Iron Man.

21 - Paul O'Neill...what a guy, what a player. Everything I love about athletes in that he was harder on himself than he ever should have been.

Or just no number and go the classy route.

How about a jersey that has "Radiohead" printed on the back?

15 for Thurman Munson, 1 for Billy Martin, or 10 for Phil Rizzuto

or go the indie route and pick the number of an older/lesser known player with some character like Cliff Johnson, Dick Tidrow or Joe Lefebvre.

I have a Cowboys Jersey, with Diamondave on the back, with #1, cos I'm the #1 Stunna!

So, obviously, you should get #69

Correct answer.

not a bad call either.

I heard a radio host somewhere this weekend (maybe ESPNRadio, dunno, I was just flipping around on XM) saying how big of a jerk and fraud that Paul O'Neil was. I'm not a Yanks fan by any stretch but I always like Paul. I actually like most of the core 90's Yankees guys (Jeter, Williams, Posada, Rivera) even if the Yankees are garbage.

And no, I'm not still sore about '96 and '99.

That's what made the Yankees of that time great. It wasn't a superstar team, it was a bunch of players like O'Neill and Williams and Knoblauch who were solid (well, you know, Knobby had some trouble handling the balls) and just played the damn game.

Remember watching that '99 World Series when we lived in ATL? Jesus, the Braves looked like a fucking AAA team compared to the Yanks.

'96 actually hurt because we fucking had it and then Wohlers shit the bed...

MLB Extra Innings is available on Dish, no?

Why wouldn't they have YES. I almost switched to Dish this year to get
TV Global but decided I didn't want to scrap my investment in the direct tv dvr. I'm glad i didn't if they don't have YES.
