Two-fold category:

1. I know there are gonna be some haters that say that anything ringtonish is lame and is not indie. However, I was wondering what ringtones you people have on your phone?

Me: Currently it is Let's Get It On by Marvin Gaye. Recently changed from the Green Hornet Theme Song

2. What songs would you think would be great as a ringtone?

Me: All is Full of Love - Bjork

NOTE: Shrimp Boat is not allowed as an answer to question #2. Sorry PopT. :)

Vibrate.

Ringtones make me feel all Pavlovian: I hear some song with the same frequencies as my ring and my head turns.

But of course... now if a big truck passes and shakes everything I think my damn phone is ringing. :(

<---has a cellphone but hates getting calls.

My ring tone sounds like a phone, ringing.

I now have a Palm Treo that doesn't have the capability to have music ringtones, so I use a polyphonic version of "White Lines" by Grandmaster Flash. It was the first song I found that was worth a shit and didn't sound lame.

On my former phone (a Samsung) it was "Ego Tripping at the Gates of Hell" by the Flaming Lips. When the phone rang, it sang "Just Ego Trippin'" over and over again. I thought this was humorous.

Nothing on my current phone but my Nextel had "Big Pimpin'" and several Stones songs (I think I used "Bitch" the most)

I'm about to buy another phone though so maybe I'll get some new ringtones.

I was drunk a few weeks ago, and bored, so I d/l/d a bunch of ringtones:
Femgar = Good Vibrations
Bloor = Someday (Strokes)
Ze Doktor = Brown Sugar
My sister = 19th Nervous Breakdown
Sonny Gunz = Folsom Prison Blues
Scotty D = I'm Straight (T.I)
default = What you know about that (T.I.)

This is what I want - the more old-fashionedy, the better. Where do I get this? I have never dowlnloaded a ringtone before. How much do they cost?

If you go here you can upload anything you want as a ringtone and it's like $5 or something ridiculously cheap. Much cheaper than getting them from a phone company.

edit: $5 for 6 uploads, $10 for 14, $8.99 a month for unlimited.

i'm a ringtone whore. i get bored of hearing the same shit all the time so i change it up.

priority calls: stones- miss you
i should probably pick it up because it's someone i haven't heard from in awhile: stones- jumpin jack flash
default: stones- satisfaction
voicemail: midi of stones- paint it black
text message alert: massive attack- angel

if sprint offered radiohead ringtones, i'd be all over it. i'm trying to find the family guy "it's peanut butter jelly time" theme song for my alarm but no dice.
