Don't have it, but they deserve massive props for not staying trapped in '92.

This post will not be much help.

I decided to make it my first Mudhoney purchase based on a review which mentioned a prominent horn section on several songs, which intrigued me (even though I never grunged much). I'm still digesting it, but it's growing on me with each listen. Liking the horns. Can't tell you how it fares against all the other Mudhoney albums, though.

Umm, All Music gave it 4 stars. So there you go.

I was actutally considering picking this one up, but I'm not in any hurry. The song that is I suppose their single, is pretty good.

I always wanted to get into Mudhoney but never could. People rave about "Superfuzz Bigmuff" being such a classic album but I just can't see it.

Superfuzz is just the start of Mudhoney
I respect the fact that they didn't get tied down to the grunge sound and kept moving forward. It's limited critics ability to pigeonhole them but has made for some good tunes which aren't tied to a specific time.

My Brother The Cow is the one to hear.

'Burn It Clean' is one of my all time favourite tracks.

I actually never take a roadtrip without a Mudhoney album. That and Steve Miller. Both seem to compliment my travels well.

The band is one of my all-time favs. Under A Billion Suns is a Mudhoney record, that's all there is to say because the guys sound like Mudhoney. I wouldn't call it essential, but if you're a long-time fan of the band, you won't be disappointed.
Here's a collection of reviews if you care to dig deeper

2002's Since We've Become Translucent was great if you never picked it up.

this sounds a lot like the last new mudhoney album i heard
it is a sound that i like but the songs dont really grab my interest

my favorite is my brother the cow also

there's some similarities between "under a billion suns" and that cougars album "pillow talk" i was pushing about a month ago

Does radio still play that censored version - or will people need to be 30+ to get that reference?

I actually heard it on the radio en route back from picking up the $500 puppy in BFE on Monday afternoon, and they definitely still play the censored version. It's weird, because I've heard the uncensored version on the radio plenty of times, as well. I wonder if some DJs just don't give a [KICK].

Sweet Young Thing has my all time favorite scream in it. I'm guessing Mark Arm smokes a few packs a day. What I've heard of thier new stuff is OK but doesn't do a lot for me.
