. . . legal alcohol. Been drinkin' since I was 14, now it's just kind of anti-climactic. All the same, I had a stupid grin on my face when I bought the beer. Jesus, I've been waiting a long time for this.

I remember doing that, as well as buying my first legal beer in the pub. In both cases I think I bought Molson Ex. I miss drinking that beer.

did they card you?

so many of my friends didn't even get carded their first 'legal' time purchasing alcohol.

on MY 21st birthday....i stopped at a local convenient store for a 12-pack. the woman checked my i.d.....saw that it was my 21st birthday and announced it to the entire store! it was funny. (but you probably had to be there.)

Nope. Didn't get carded, but I also buy cigarettes at that same store once or twice a day. I really don't get carded anywhere, but now I'm ready if I do. Maybe I should shave my beard so people start carding me.

i don't think i've ever bought alcohol legally. i didn't get carded at my first 21+ show, though. i wished i'd known that the venue was so lax before then.

The first thing I bought at a bar was buttery nipple shots and that was only a year ago. I had bought alcohol from a store before that, but I have no idea what it was.

Today, today is my birthday. And a happy one it is: keys to a new apartment, a check for $1625, Bonnaroo tickets get shipped, and I'm forgetting something . . . oh yeah, I'm going to a 21+ show tonight. :rawk:

HB. You should change your name to "are". Since you're not almost anymore.

Same here. 33, never bought alcohol, not even for someone else. But then I don't drink.

Welcome to the clubhouse!

My first booze purchase in a bar was anticlimactic as well since it was the bar that I had gone to w/ my dad (and been served at) since I was 17. Whiskey and Coke looks like Coke and since I was already in the wheelchair no one thought it odd that I was, you know, slurring and stuff.

"Hey Myrtle, look at the funny cripple kid."

Memories...
